Yet Again

Well my thesis has been rejected again for the third time. It seems that the two signature lines on my approval page—which are supposed to be exactly 2.5 inches—are a 1/16 of inch too long. What was I thinking? Also, the page numbers on the front matter are 1/16 of an inch too high. Somehow these grievous errors slipped by the formatter's eagle eye the first two times, but he managed to snag it this last time. The real kicker here is that now I have to chase down my professors—who are on summer break—in order to get fresh signatures for the correctly formatted approval page.

But the real issue is the block quotes. I'm now required to change the line spacing from 1 to 1.2 in order to "minimize the unsightly extra space introduced by the superscripted footnote number." This of course, will require me to reformat the entire 180 pages, as headings and subheadings will now shift around. There’s more to tell, but I grow weary of it. At least I’m down to a quarter of page of corrections. May God have mercy.

But on a happier note, my second son arrived safely in the world on July 15th: Nathan James, 8 lbs. 4 oz. And though I am still on my blogging hiatus, pictures will be forthcoming.

That is the lamest thing I've yet heard. That ivory tower hermit needs to get a life. Tell him I said so, too.

Vote for Pedro.

That sucks dude, I'm sorry to hear that. I never knew they could be so uptight. Glad to see you back.
