Loving Jesus More than Daddy

As usual, I prayed with my three year old tonight at bedtime. After thanking Jesus "for this daddy right here" (said with eyes closed and a thumb jerked in my direction), he then informed Jesus, "I don't love Daddy more than you. I love you the most. Son your name we pray--Amen."

Suprised, I looked over at him. "Who taught you to pray like that?" I asked.

"No one," he said. "That's just how I pray."

To which I can only say, "Amen."

that's my grandson! and contrary to what he says, he's being taught by his daddy, my son. I think you have taught him that Jesus should have first place. i think he is getting it!

Heh...Us adults think we are so smart with our big words and fancy ideas. All these seminary guys running around talking about Five Point Calvinistic Existentialism in respect to the Post-modern's Pre-Augustinian viewpoint about the systematic doctrine of Dispensationalism and they get schooled by a three year old.

Agreed, crnbrdeater! I actually went back and commented on your original Five Point post. You're right that God has entrusted wisdom to children over scholars -- definitely, and most graciously, over scholars.

P.S. Great job, Gerald, raising your son to love the Lord. How grateful that must make your heart ...

I would say he doesn't learn from his dad, but that would be my mean side and that side doesn't exist in moments like those. It's amazing watching kids interact with Jesus, it's almost like he's right there when they pray. Thank God they're not scholars, at least not in our field. Protect him Gerald, don;t let the world harden his heart, love ya bro
